Account-based sales development for the accounts you most want to win
Pick the accounts. We map everyone involved in the decision, find the reason to call each one, run coordinated outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn and direct mail, and book qualified meetings inside those accounts for your account executives.

What is account-based sales development?
Account-based sales development is prospecting that starts from a named list of accounts instead of a territory. You pick the companies worth winning, map everyone who has a say in the decision, and work those people as a group over months until the right ones agree to meet. The output is the same as any SDR program, qualified meetings, but inside accounts you chose.
Account-based marketing (ABM) is the marketing side of the same idea: ads, content and events aimed at named accounts. Account-based sales development is the human outreach that turns that attention into conversations. If you are still deciding whether you need either, read what account-based marketing is and ABM vs lead generation.
How Abstrakt runs a named-account program
- 01
Choose fewer, better accounts
Agree the account list and what qualifies a meeting. Each account is researched in Abstrakt Intelligence: locations, the people who decide, and the details we qualify against.
- 02
Map the buying group
The person who takes the meeting is rarely the only one who signs. Multithreaded outreach to each role on the committee, with why that role matters written into the account collateral every rep certifies on.
- 03
Enter where there is a reason
A new location, a contract coming due or an aging system. The rep opens with the reason that applies to that account, not a generic pitch.
- 04
Coordinate the touches
Phone first, with email, LinkedIn and direct mail written from what each person said on the call, so every contact in the account hears one consistent story.
- 05
Book, brief and expand
Meetings go to the account executive who owns the account, with a brief. Win one site or department, then work the rest of the account the same way.
Account-based vs territory outbound
Most companies need both: territory outbound to fill the pipeline, account-based work for the handful of logos that would change the year. Here is where each fits.
| Account-based | Territory outbound | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | A named list of target accounts | Every company in a territory that fits the profile |
| People per account | Several roles in each account | Usually the one person who owns the decision |
| Time horizon | Months per account | Weeks per meeting |
| Best for | Large, multi-site or multi-stakeholder deals | Many similar buyers with shorter cycles |
| Abstrakt program | Enterprise SDR/BDR, or Outbound BDR for a short named list | Outbound BDR |
Selling into the Fortune 1000
For Fortune 1000 and large-enterprise targets, account-based work runs as Enterprise SDR/BDR: a dedicated team certified on your offer, with named-account campaigns, multithreaded executive outreach and competitive displacement campaigns as part of the same program. Each business unit can have its own playbook, qualification criteria and reporting.
The program follows five stages:
- Define. Agree on the growth objective, the target segments, what qualifies a lead and how success will be measured.
- Design. Choose the capabilities, team size, channels and reporting. Agree on governance, exclusions and integration. Build and review the account list in Abstrakt Intelligence.
- Activate. Reps study your account, practice with the AI trainer and pass certification. Then calls start, on a recorded line.
- Optimize. Quality reviews, recovery queues, call recordings and monthly collaboration calls show what is working, and talk tracks and criteria are adjusted.
- Scale. Add business units, territories or capabilities on the same foundation once the program is producing.
The people, platform and checks on every account
- People. A dedicated U.S.-based team from our St. Louis sales center. Every rep completes two weeks of extensive training before taking a call on the floor, and every rep is certified on a client, including AI role plays, before representing that client.
- Platform. Abstrakt Intelligence: 14M+ U.S. commercial buildings mapped, 200+ intent triggers monitored and 2.8B+ signals processed per quarter. See how the platform works.
- Quality. Every meeting is graded on the 25-point scorecard and checked against the call transcript before it reaches you.
- Benchmarks. Across 3.1M+ calls and 25,000+ appointments across 15 commercial service verticals, our SDRs averaged about 125 dials per appointment (Abstrakt sales center, Performance Intelligence, national, as of October 2026). Named-account work trades volume for depth, so expect fewer dials per account and more people per account.
What account-based sales development costs
Enterprise SDR/BDR has custom pricing, which depends on your needs and the size of the dedicated team. A shorter named list inside one market can run on Outbound BDR, starting at $5,000 per month.
Every program carries an appointment guarantee based on your industry; the exact number is in your agreement. If we miss the number by the end of the year, we work for free until we hit it.
Account-Based Sales Development questions, answered
What is account-based sales development?
Prospecting that starts from a named list of target accounts. SDRs map the people involved in the decision at each account and work them as a group, by phone, email, LinkedIn and direct mail, until the right ones agree to meet.
How is it different from account-based marketing?
ABM is the marketing side: ads, content and events aimed at named accounts. Account-based sales development is the outreach by people that turns that attention into conversations and meetings. The two work best on the same account list.
Does Abstrakt run account-based programs?
Yes. Account-based sales development, named-account campaigns and multithreaded executive outreach are part of Enterprise SDR/BDR. A short named list inside one market can also run on Outbound BDR.
How many accounts should a named-account list have?
Enough that the team can reach several people in each account every month, and few enough that every account is researched before the first call. We set the size with you when we build the list, based on how many roles each account needs.
Who closes the deals?
Your account executives. We book the meetings and pass on what was said on each call; your team runs discovery, the proposal and the close, and keeps every relationship.
What does it cost?
Enterprise SDR/BDR is custom, priced to the team you need. Outbound BDR is starting at $5,000 per month.
