Employee Resource Groups on the Rise at Abstrakt Marketing Group

We are thrilled to announce the emergence of ERGs or Employee Resource Groups at Abstrakt. We held our first preview event last week, Wine Down Wednesday, for our Women’s ERG. Our panel, which consisted of members of our director and the executive team, was asked questions about leadership style and promoting inclusion in the workplace. One of the female managers who attended said, “It’s incredible to have a panel of such successful women who work within the same company just proves that I made the best decision joining Abstrakt.”

This ERG is a place where we cultivate resources, stimulate discussion, and share best practices to best support and enhance the personal and professional development of women at Abstrakt. A common question we get is: “Do I have to be a woman to join this group?” No, we welcome participation from all team members. Learn more about the needs of your teammates from traditionally marginalized groups so that you can ensure you are doing the most you can as an ally to these communities. One of the men on our leadership team who attended says, “I won’t lie, as a male, I was nervous to attend a Women’s ERG event, while I want to be as supportive and empowering as possible, the last thing I wanted to do was encroach on such an amazing group of women. That said, I couldn’t be happier that I was in attendance. The panel session offered an unbelievable perspective and motivated the hell out of me. From inclusion and empathy to servant leadership and motivation, I left with a myriad of takeaways that have already been implemented into my personal and professional life. I only wish we had more time.”

This group will have the following objectives:

  • increase women’s professional development.
  • increase diversity within the company.
  • increase recruitment and the advancement of women.
  • mentor women.
  • In addition to meeting monthly, we’ve decided to create a hub for providing resources, stimulating discussion, and sharing best practices.
