In April 2020, while most of the nation was shutting down and hunkering indoors, a Florida-based real estate company decided to take a bold leap forward. At a time when few homes were hitting the market and even fewer were selling, this forward-thinking partner saw an opportunity to invest in long-term growth. They turned to Abstrakt Marketing Group to help them build a sustainable Realtor recruitment program that would set them up for future success.
Client’s Challenges
Recruiting Realtors during the height of a global pandemic wasn’t an easy task. The real estate industry was in flux, with many agents clinging to job security rather than pursuing new opportunities. Our client wanted to expand their team with experienced, high-producing Realtors—agents with at least eight annual transactions or $2 million in sales—but they didn’t have the time or resources to handle the recruitment process themselves.
They also needed to be selective about who they targeted. Their ideal recruits were based in just two Florida counties, and they had to avoid agents from two competing agencies due to existing partnerships. Their reputation relied on quality over quantity, which meant every potential recruit had to meet strict performance standards.
Our Solution
Abstrakt launched a comprehensive Realtor recruitment campaign in April 2020 using our proven B2B appointment setting process.
We began with a full implementation month, working alongside our partner to refine the ideal candidate profile, research their market, and build a highly targeted list of qualified Realtors. Our data team focused on gathering accurate contact information, while our sales development representatives (SDRs) developed a customized outreach strategy emphasizing the client’s competitive edge: advanced technology tools, strong marketing support, and prime listings.
By May, our SDRs began outreach—calling, emailing, and connecting with Realtors across both target counties. While initial conversations were difficult amid pandemic uncertainty, our team focused on long-term lead nurturing, using consistent follow-up, personalized emails, and marketing collateral to keep potential recruits engaged. Over the following months, those conversations turned into appointments and, eventually, hires.
