About Our Partner
Our client is a Midwest-based LED lighting and energy solutions company. Before partnering with Abstrakt, they had little experience generating qualified leads or building a consistent sales pipeline. In May 2019, they turned to Abstrakt Marketing Group to launch an outbound marketing program designed to connect them with decision-makers in industries like manufacturing, education, automotive, and retail.
Client’s Challenges
While outbound activity quickly began producing promising leads, the onset of COVID-19 in early 2020 created major obstacles. Budgets were slashed, prospects shifted to remote work, and decision-makers often responded with hesitation: “We don’t have the money right now.”
For many companies, these objections would have led to abandoned opportunities. But in industries like LED lighting, where deals can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, persistence is essential. Our challenge was clear: continue nurturing prospects through uncertainty, staying top-of-mind until the timing was right.
Our Solution
Abstrakt’s Outbound SDR program focused on consistent, strategic persistence:
Ongoing outreach: 10+ follow-up calls over nine months kept communication alive with key decision-makers.
Qualified targeting: Ensuring the prospect fit the client’s ideal profile and had long-term needs for large-scale LED projects.
Lead nurturing: Each SDR listened to concerns, reinforced the value of energy-efficient lighting, and positioned our client as the right partner.
Resilience: Even when an appointment was set and then canceled, Abstrakt continued calling until the meeting was rescheduled.
By balancing patience with determination, Abstrakt ensured that a high-value opportunity didn’t slip away.
The Excellent Results
The payoff came in early 2021:
$300,000 deal closed in March 2021 after nearly a year of consistent outreach.
Four buildings, 2M sq. ft. of space converted to energy-efficient LED lighting.
One month from appointment to contract, proving that long nurturing cycles can still lead to rapid closes once the timing is right.
“You guys are doing a great job, and you’re so professional. You really have helped our company.”
This success demonstrates the power of persistence in B2B appointment setting. By refusing to give up, Abstrakt turned a hesitant lead into one of the client’s largest revenue-generating projects to date.
