Abstrakt is excited to send a group of volunteers to Angels’ Arms for the 2nd Annual Abstrakt Gives Back Day! Angels’ Arms is an organization based in St. Louis that aims to provide and support loving homes for foster children with their 13 homes across the Greater St. Louis area. They ensure this by keeping siblings together with a nurturing family until they are able to find their forever home. Angels’ Arms has served over 400 children during the past eighteen years.
These thirteen homes all across the area are owned by house parents, who don’t receive a salary from Angels’ Arms. They receive a stipend from the state for each foster child in their care. Angels’ Arms was created to help furnish these homes and to provide the foster parents with resources they may need in order to take care of the children.
This will be the first time Angels’ Arms has participated in Abstrakt Gives Back Day. We are excited to include them and assist in reaching our community in so many different ways together. Our volunteers will strive to make an impact by helping organize the office space, doing yard cleanup, landscaping, painting, power washing, or cleaning any of the 13 homes Angels’ Arms has.
“Every child who enters an Angels’ Arms home is welcomed with open arms and gets to experience the joy of being a part of a family.”
Angels’ Arms only has six full-time employees and two part-time employees. They have over 200 dedicated volunteers who serve the organization in various ways. Without the help of these volunteers, the organization would struggle. Volunteers are the backbone that keeps Angels’ Arms running. If you are interested in becoming one of their permanent volunteers, follow this link for the application.
Angels’ Arms helps kids be kids by providing clothing and shoes, school supplies and tutoring, sports camps and equipment, music lessons and instruments, dental and eye care assistance, tickets to local sports events, monthly activities and birthdays, and the Adopt-A-Family program. This involvement with the children gives them a chance to thrive as children.
One way to help this organization help children is by making a donation. If you are interested in making a contribution, donate here.
