Abstrakt Marketing Group Facebook-A-Thon

Saint Louis, MO — We are requesting the community of Saint Louis to come together to take our Facebook-A-Thon Challenge.

Behold the power of social media! Who would have thought that you could help aid a charity in funding for their programs by just the click of a button? No, not a ‘Pay Now’ button, but rather the ‘Like’ button on a Facebook page.

We all know that social media has more than exploded since the creation of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. But now celebrities, companies, and just every day users are finding ways to take the power of social media and do some good in our world.

Have you heard of the “The @PatriciaHeaton Twitter Challenge?” Patricia Heaton, star of “Everybody Love’s Raymond”, began her Twitter Challenge to shine a spotlight on the Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry.

In just a matter of two days, the Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry’s Twitter feed attracted an 2000-plus followers, with more rolling in as the story of the actress’ offer became more widespread. For each follower to the @ReecesRainbow Twitter feed, $1 would be donated to the worthy cause. See what a difference social media can make in the lives of so many children with this challenge

Right here in Saint Louis, Abstrakt Marketing Group (AMG) is challenging our social media community to come together to shine and help the lives of those individuals with Down Syndrome in St. Louis. For every new fan that AMG gets in the month of April, the business will donate $1 (up to $1,000) to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.

Down syndrome is a chromosomal disorder that includes a combination of birth defects. Affected individuals have some degree of intellectual disability, characteristic facial features and, often, heart defects and other health problems. The severity of these problems varies greatly among affected individuals.

Down syndrome is one of the most common genetic birth defects. It affects about 1 in 800 (about 3,400) babies a year in the United States. According to the National Down Syndrome Society, there are more than 400,000 individuals with Down syndrome in the United States.

Abstrakt Marketing Group challenges Saint Louis to come participate in the Facebook-A-Thon. Aside from the money raised, it’s hard not to think that hearts will be changed by this, too. It’s literally one click of a button, who knew liking a page could do so much good!
