A Day in the Life of a Maryville Intern
Our program at Maryville is an on-campus internship and is intended for students who are interested in a career in sales, data-driven marketing, or anything in the realm of professional communication. The internship is paid with college credit available and is designed to equip students with the sales, analytical, and communications skills needed for a successful career in the fast-paced world of business.
A day in the life of a Maryville intern is just about as close you can get to the unparalleled culture and energy found in our downtown St. Louis office. On any given day, different students could be walking through the door. Throughout the day, students are coming and going between shifts and their classes—our students have the flexibility to create their own schedule! While hard at work, they’re learning about sales, lead generation, and marketing, all while getting to apply those skills to their job and have an impact at a growing business.
Abstrakt’s Criteria
for the internship
The successful candidate will have a desire to learn, grow, and achieve success in their internship. Our Maryville interns have the opportunity to build marketable skills and take on new and exciting challenges. We value our interns’ time and efforts as we strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where each intern can learn and grow with the organization.
Job requirements:
- Ability and desire to work in a high-energy environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient organizational skills and attentive to detail
- Ability to work well in an energetic, team environment and maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures
- Must be able to work at least 15 hours per week minimum between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Current GPA must be above 2.5
- Must be comfortable working in-office while adhering to CDC, Maryville, and Abstrakt guidelines
- Willing to commit to the internship as a real job and experience in Sales
Abstrakt’s internship
responsibilities
As a Maryville intern, you’ll play an integral part in the delivery of effective lead generation solutions to our client partners. You’ll have a direct effect on the growth and success of our company. Reporting to the Director of Intern Success, you will be responsible for various tasks that relate to our B2B appointment setting and lead generation process.
Job responsibilities:
- Make cold calls to various levels of prospects, from gatekeepers to executives
- Navigate the internet, LinkedIn, and use Salesforce CRM quickly and efficiently
- Create messaging for digital lead generation platforms such as LinkedIn and email
- Hit daily, weekly, and monthly internal and external performance goals
- Prepare for a weekly MAP with direct manager to discuss major projects, activity, and potential business issues, which result in leaving with five key projects for the next week
- Consistently play a key role within the team in one of the following areas: unity, celebrations, branding, development, or metrics

This is an on-campus internship at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. We operate a satellite office in the Anheuser-Busch Academic Center on Maryville’s campus so students can work for a fast-growing company right on their own campus.
