As if we didn’t have enough talk surrounding yesterday’s election, Twitter announced that Obama’s victory set the most tweet-per-minute (TPM) record. At the moment networks called Obama’s re-election victory the TPM numbers were at 327,452.
Other notable Twitter moments from the Nov 6th election:
- 85,273 TPM – IA presidential race called
- 69,031 TPM – PA and WI presidential races called
- 65,106 TPM – Polls close in various states; AP calls races for IL, CT, ME, DC, DE, RI, MD, MA
Candidates from around the nation also made it a point to share their congratulations with their opponents and running mates while other individuals shared some positive and not so positive statements.
